It is planned to channel 216 million US dollars for the construction of Rogun hydroelectric plant in 2020, informs TajikTA with the reference to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.

The fund for Rogun HPP is envisaged in the national budget for 2020. The funding for Rogun HPP will be similar to the one in 2019. To date, Tajikistan has two Rogun’s hydro generating units commissioned: the first one was brought online in November 2018, and the second in September this year. The project implies 6 hydro generating units with the capacity of 600 MW each.

The construction of Rogun HPP is scheduled for completion by 2033.
